Community Options for Children and Families Society (Community Options) is a non-profit organization which offers support to families who have a family member with a disability. Community Options was formed by a group of committed parents who have children with disabilities and a few supportive professionals in 1988. While the organization has grown since its inception, we strive to maintain the original vision of creating an inclusive community.
We offer respite to children with mental, physical, or developmental disabilities and adults with mental disabilities. The funding for our respite programs comes from Community Living British Columbia. We also offer a variety of family support programs which are funded in part by United Way, grants, BC Gaming, donations and fundraising. Community Options is a United Way Member Agency. Our Board of Directors is comprised of parents and interested community members.
"We are planning a two week paddling trip this summer. Knowing our son is in the caring hands of his respite caregivers, we will have a worry free vacation."
